WHITEPAPER STRUCTURE (DeFi Protocol)
Recommended length: 15–30 pages. Longer is not better — concise whitepapers that explain complex systems clearly are rare and valuable. Avoid: Generic blockchain background (readers know what Ethereum is), vague utility claims ('the token will be used for governance'), unbacked statistics, marketing language.
SECTION 1: ABSTRACT (1 page)
State clearly in 200 words or less: what problem you solve, for whom, and your key mechanism. A reader should understand the fundamental proposition after reading the abstract.
SECTION 2: PROBLEM STATEMENT (2–3 pages)
Quantify the problem: State the market size affected, the current inefficiency, and who experiences it. Cite sources. Why existing solutions fail: Be specific about the technical and economic limitations of competitors.
SECTION 3: SOLUTION OVERVIEW (3–4 pages)
System architecture diagram: Every whitepaper needs this. Show all components: smart contracts, oracles, governance, user flows.
